Secretary Bird is a large, terrestrial bird of prey, generally hunting on foot. It is native to Africa, and usually found in the open grasslands and savannah of the sub-saharan region. It appears on the coat of arms of Sudan and South Africa.

About Aashish Vaidya
I am Portland, Oregon based photographer. I am fascinated by many genres, but I particularly love travel and abstract photography. I immensely enjoy the process of taking images. It gives me an opportunity to slow down, immerse myself into the scene. I love that feeling of complete absorption, when you get into a flow, a zenlike, meditative state. A stupendous snap, Aashish! Love this colorful roadrunner. Do you know it is one of those animals who use tools to kill their prey? This bird catches snakes and kills them by banging snake's head on a hard ground, before eating it. F/L.
