Description
Jodhabai's Palace, Fatehpur Sikri, India. Despite scant evidence that there was a historical figure named Jodhabai (a rajput princess), who was a wife of Akbar, the palace is usually ascribed to her. This area of royal complex comprise of a large, open quadrangle, dotted with various single and double story buildings around it.
Fatehpur Sikri was constructed by emperor Akbar, and served as a capital of Mughal Empire from 1571 to 1585. A UNESCO World Heritage site, the buildings of the royal complex are fine examples of Mughal architecture, an amalgamation of Indian, Persian and Turkish styles.
