Historic Tower theater at dusk in downtown Bend, Oregon. The theater opened in 1940 and features its landmark name on a 40-feet tall tower. The theater closed in 1993 as it couldn't compete with multiplex theaters. But locals banded together and formed a nonprofit organization. They were successful in restoring, expanding and updating it with state-of-the-art equipment in 2004, when it reopened. The facility now features live acts, movie screenings, presentations as well it is rented out for functions such as weddings.
I am Portland, Oregon based photographer. I am fascinated by many genres, but I particularly love travel and abstract photography. I immensely enjoy the process of taking images. It gives me an opportunity to slow down, immerse myself into the scene. I love that feeling of complete absorption, when you get into a flow, a zenlike, meditative state. I hope that my images convey this same sense of immersion and allow the viewer to feel similar emotions.
