Description
Crater Lake is Oregon's only national park located in south-central Oregon. Wizard Island is a cinder cone on Mount Mazama, a dormant volcano. Crater lake formed in the caldera after volcanic eruption of Mount Mazama, is also the deepest lake in the US.
A water clarity of Crater Lake is recorded to be 134 feet, which is measured by a secchi disk - a black and white disk lowered into the water with a cable, which is still visible to the naked eye.
